The STC Underground is a unique place for teens to “hang out”, socialize, play games, surf the internet, watch TV, do homework and much more.
Open to all Middle School & High School teens, including parochial schools and home schooled students who reside within St. Charles School District boundaries.
Participants may be asked to submit proof of residency or school enrollment.
All participants are required to obtain a membership in order to attend the STC Underground. Membership is free and is granted upon each participant meeting the following requirements:
- The participant currently resides within School District 303 boundaries
- The participant is currently enrolled in school
- The participant has submitted a completed Code of Conduct signed by his/herself AND a parent or legal guardian. This form can be downloaded and printed by clicking on the link below:
The STC Underground is supervised by well trained, quality, experienced staff. Currently, the Teen Center employs two full time staff people responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Underground as well as other Teen programming throughout the Park District. Staff bios below.
Darby Beasley, CPRP
Teen Center & Program Director
Darby holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Murray State University along with a Master’s Degree from George Williams College both in Recreation Administration. She has been working in the professional field of recreation programming for 10+ years. Darby is excited about the opportunity to continue offering quality and enriching recreational programming to the teens who visit the teen center.
Teen Recreation Supervisor
Dan graduated from Purdue University in 2010 with a degree in Film and Video. He’s been with the St. Charles Park District or more than 8 years. Dan brings fresh ideas on reaching and engaging teens.
The Underground also employs several part-time employees. These qualified individuals assist in supervising the Teen Center as well as aiding in Teen special events.
Janay currently works as a nanny and part-time at the STCU. She also attends Elgin Community College and enjoys sharing experiences with the teens at the Underground.
Currently completing his Masters in Recreation Programming, John also works for the Winfield Park District, enjoys running, and likes playing video games with the teens.
Claire has been employed with the St. Charles Park District in several capacities. She particularly enjoys the teen center because of the diversity of programming and the hobbies of the teens.
