STCU is the acronym for the St. Charles Underground Teen Center. Funded by the St. Charles Park District and supported by grants and donations, this non-for profit teen facility, created this unique name since the location is in the lower level of the Baker Community Center.
Memberships are free to students, ages 11-19, residing within the Community Unit School District 303 boundaries.
The teen center features a computer lab and lounge, gaming systems with large TVs, billiards, air hockey, ping pong, foosball and an art area.
STCU is a drop-in facility. Staff is responsible for the supervision of teens while they are in the teen center.
The St. Charles Park District strives to offer programs and special events for teens either free or for a small fee to make recreation program opportunities accessible.
Various snacks are available for purchase.
Yes, when Teen Supervisors take teens on a field trip or run a program at an off-site location, such as one of the District’s parks, miniature golf, farm, etc.
Yes, members are welcome to bring their own gaming systems. However, STCU staff are not responsible for lost items.
